One mistake we make most times is expecting life to treat us nicely all the time…
Sometimes life ‘throws’ us down in order to make us stronger.
Problems of life are not supposed to pull us down and ‘shatter’ us forever, rather they are supposed to “sit us down (pull us down), and ‘mould’ us into a better people.
That period we are down, is meant to help us think and plan how to move to the next level.
I see every problem, obstacle or whatever you call those “draining and frustrating” moments, as a stepping stone to a bigger and better me.
What about you, How do you interpret those moments?
When I am down, I do not usually focus on the ‘event’ (being down), rather I focus on three things:
1. Why am I down
2. How do I get back up.
3. How do I avoid future falls.
I try to learn my lessons in order to avoid future falls. After which I think of “the way forward”.
Before I learnt this lesson, I would normally get angry and frustrated. And sometimes I would look around for someone to blame for my failure. But over time, I realized that being angry and frustrated, will never do me any good at such moments. Just like blaming anyone or anything won’t . It is a huge waste of time because at the end of the day nothing good comes around.
The key here is STAYING FOCUSED, BEING CONFIDENT, AND POSITIVE AND HAVING THE WILL TO GO ON.
TIMES OF TRIBULATIONS, IN MY VIEW, SHOULD BE A PERIOD OF SERIOUS REFLECTIONS AND PLANNING.
It’s not easy to stay focused when we’re troubled, I know. But with determination, and a constant reminder that negative energy worsens the situation, you can do it.
What I discovered is that when we decide to focus on, and feed the negative energy around us in times of problems and tribulations, we tend to BLAME LIFE. We totally forget about “what we might have done wrong”.
I have heard a lot of these expressions from a lot of people: “WHY IS MY OWN LIFE DIFFERENT? WHY IS LIFE THIS UNFAIR TO ME?”
Personally, I don’t agree with these kinds of expressions…or thinking.
I don’t blame life, because it owes me nothing, rather I owe myself and even life itself, the responsibility to succeed. The responsibility to make the best out of the gift of life! It’s not everyone that has that gift, remember, so having it is enough gift from “life”
It has given it to me and I am solely responsible for making the best out of this gift…
Some of us even go further to blame the people around us when we don’t succeed. Maybe a wealthy aunt, uncle, brother, sister, etc.
Listen, these people don’t owe you anything as far as life is concerned. The same way the gift of life was given to them, is the same way it was given to you.
IF YOU SUCCEED, YOU TAKE THE PRAISE, IF YOU FAIL, YOU TAKE THE BLAME…They don’t, neither does “life”
LIFE’S ONLY RESPONSIBILITY IS TO GIVE US ‘LIFE’. EVERY OTHER THING ABOUT our lives, including how we live it, what we make out of it, how we react to unpleasant times, etc., are IN OUR HANDS.
If You fail, YOU BLAME MYSELF…
If You succeed, YOU GET THE PRIASE…
Now, when you fail, what do you do? Get back up and push on, or sit tight on the ground and wallow in sorrow while you blame life and the people around you?
I leave you to reflect on this.
